Next week Wednesday, the 28th February, is Rare Disease’s Day. This day is close to the heart of Pecanwood Prep, due to a Grade 2 pupil, Juan Douglas du Plessis, who suffers from Pompe Disease, a very rare neuromuscular disorder. Despite his health challenges, Juan is full of enthusiasm and loves coming to school every day. Due to Juan's diagnosis, his mom started an NPO called Rare Diseases South Africa, which aims to improve the quality of life by those impacted by rare diseases. To show our support for Juan, and all those affected by Rare Diseases, the children will have a jeans and T-shirt day on Wednesday 28th February.
